In light of the various complaints of people who think they deserved more, I submit this. I mean, come on. I CLEARLY deserved the blue ribbon. It was so bad it should've been seen as a sublime commentary on the joy of life, suffused with the richness of a quiet moment as experienced through the eyes of a child.

Or something.

Okay, who's ready to join me as we storm the gates, hack the server, and give ourselves the blue ribbons we deserve? Post your obvious ribbon winners here!

You were robbed........totally a blue ribbon winner.......what were the voters thinking?????????!!!!!

This was a very artistic use of whiskey I thought......my creativity knew no bounds on the day I took this shot. Grossly underated......I am still losing sleep from the unfairness of my undiscovered genius!!

Prior to voting, I was absolutely convinced that I had ribbon-material on my hands with this shot:

Then I saw the other entries in the "best of 2006" challenge and I knew I was toast. A 6.5 ain't bad, and is well above my personal average, but I REALLY thought I had a ribbon-winner....

Um, since I may have been too subtle ...
My post was a joke. It was meant to be an invitation to make fun of ourselves, as opposed to a request for photos of ours we thought were underrated.

That said, strangeghost, 6.5 is a great score!

Obvious BLUE but voting was upside down!

yeah! here are two that were obviously robbed of a ribbon:

come on people. IR is soo cool, it always deserves at least top 10... even when it's fuzzy...

and this one? the title alone merited at least the red! you love this one! admit it!

and this one... 5th percentile?!? are you kidding? it's sooooo out of the box and original. what? a pretty sky line with explosions is the only way to photography fireworks? obviously i'm just too artistic for your plebeian minds.

and with that, i shall now leave with a self-rightious head tilt and an indignant huff.

(wait? you wern't being serious?!?)

I still think this is my best entry ever.

Edit to add, that it looks even better as just the thumbnail!

Well it was hard to find ONE that fit the critera you have set forth but only cause ALL of mine are that way lol...guess I'll choose this one:

I mean how could you go wrong with so much history and so many things to look at and enjoy...I think the voters were too "green" back then.

Not only did I think this was going to win the blue ribbon but also grace the cover of Life Magazine. I still haven't heard back from them. :(

come on, both of these should have gotten blue ribbons...

I have to agree with you here! Bit like this one - definite Blue! The voters on this site dont recognise true art when they see it!

;-)

My "Morning" shot was simply brilliant, and anyone who didn't appreciate the true genius of this undersaturated photo of a concrete bridge simply doesn't get it.

Edit to add: Gordon and MikeOwens I think you two should collaborate efforts with those two stunning examples of modern art and submit them to the Hirshhorn or MOMA.

There is rules to winning challenges.

1. You have to be some one good and what your taking a picture of.
2. You have to own one of the following camera's, Nikon D200, Nikon D80, Nikon D70, Nikon D50, Cannon 5D, Cannon EOS 30D, Cannon EOS 20D, ugh to many. Put it this way, if your camera is less then $800 you won't win.
3. Photoshop, if you can't afford the $700 for photoshop forget it.

There you go. That is all you need to know.

And folks, the items in the bluelight special are all broken returns, stop shopping for a camera there.

Yep. Cry babies. Some people seem to want to learn and grow, while others just want to rationalize their suckage.

Oh wait most of you that posted here already have Cannon's and expensive camera's hahahahaha Okay well at least I have an excuse for scoring in the low to mid 4's. What's your excuse?

Um. I suck. :) That's all the excuse I need.

And Jacko, please read my original post. This whole thread is a JOKE! Not serious complaining.

Jeffrey, that's a sweeeeeeeet photo of the back of a spoon. And you even included an outtake in the description. I think you should quit taking monument photos and stick with silverware :-)

Sheesh. That's the front of the spoon. Can't you see I'm reflected upside down? Artists are soooooo misunderstood.

I know it's a joke. Anyone ever known me to be serious?

I still contend that my phenomenal entry in the B&W III challenge was completely mis-voted. I deserved a ribbon, just for the fact that I followed the challenge title to the letter. If I read it correctly, and I always do, my entry was one of the few that actually used black and white. The vast majority of other entries wimped out and used a whole mess of grey tones and sharp, pretty images with good lighting - what a total cop-out.

The humanity of it all...

O.K. HERE IS AN OBVIOUS WINNER

HA HA My very first disaster! I promise there will be more!!!! Just wait and see!!
