People that give you a 1 or 2 and don't tell you what you are doing wrong :(

WE ARE NOT PSYCHIC!! YOU HAVE TO TELL US!!

Please, Lord, let them read this and know who they are cause I sure don't.

Agreed! How the hell am I supposed to compete with incredible shots of the Northern Lights stretching over lakes and mountains in Iceland? Unfair. DQ THEM ALL!!!!

The worst thing is, they take these great shots in the middle of the night when "normal" people are sleeping.

Keep in mind that sometimes the person submitting it may have gone to lengths to try it for them self,
finally succeeding, and felt proud enough to submit it.

Really hot naked chicks. I hate that I have to vote 20% of the challenge to make the 10 votes count.

I agree. i have done some cliche shots just to try to do them myself. most of the time i have learned something that has helped me when trying to make original shots.

one of the few things i have said i was tired of was canon beach shots but i always give them a fair vote. the only reason i was getting tired of them is because they were so similar but you know what if i went there i might take the same shot for myself.

I'll agree with this -
If one hasn't EVER tried the shots, they don't have much to complain about -
some of the water drops / wine glass shots are notoriously difficult to get right .. but if your only submissions are of these things... you need to get out more ;)

Thanks Brad. I am new to photography and use these challenges as a way to push myself to try new things. I know that my photos aren't contenders for a top 10 finish, but the amount I have learned trying to pull off some of these challenges has been a huge jump start for me. I tried very hard to pull off a shot that I thought was creative and was pretty proud of myself when finished.
So for those of you who leave comments that are constructive, Thank you!
For those who are always to negative, please remember those who are trying to learn.

maybe there should be an "ordinary" challenge. Take something non-spectacular and make it your own.........oh wait! That's what I do anyway! And it's still ordinary!

Ugh!

blurry cat snapshots.

Well if someone does try to mimic the cliche shots for learning purposes. Just for the additional challenge it would be fun if they made it their own, like change something about it, add some special touch. Easier said than done, I know, but it's possible. But the Northern lights have to go :P

New trend noted in current FS: LOTS of lions. What gives?

In any event, y'all should be pleased to notice that one of our members, Bear_Music, has refrained from submitting a "spectacular ocean-and-sunset" shot since December of last year. He can't promise he will continue to abstain, but he HAS tried to branch out. His scores show it, too; he's kind of a one-trick pony, really.

Nah, bring them on Bear. Really enjoy viewing your oceanside pics. Give us a special treat at least once in a while. And I know exactly what you mean about trying to branch out. I hope it comes easier to you than others.

As soon as I figure out what it is I do too much of (other than the mundane), I promise I'll stop. Or not do it as much. Just as soon as I figure it out...

Don't stop - some of us have to continue the mundane gauntlet. It's like a badge of honor. And sometimes we get it right.
