I was wondering if anyone that has vista has installed BreezeBrowser Pro or ACDSee Pro? I have ordered Vista and was wondering if I am going to have any issues with installation of these two pieces of software.(?) I know that ACDSee has on their site that they will have Vista compatible applications available March 2007 but I didn't know if that meant that the program wouldn't currently run or not.

So, if anyone has successfully or unsuccessfully installed these two programs to Vista, I would appreciate your reply.

Thanks!!!

I'm currently using ACDSee Pro v9.0 under Vista without any problems. I have other software that does have issues with Vista, but thankfully, ACDSee isn't one of them.

Terry,

My version of ACDSee Pro is Version 8.1 (Build 99) an their update tells me that there is no updates available. Is the v9.0 a Beta version of Pro?

What are some of the programs that you have ran in to trouble with that will not run?

Go to their website... ACDSee 9 was a purchased upgrade.

Firefox has some issues under Vista. I'm currently running a beta which fixes the issues I had, so no qualms there.

DxO Optics is my "preferred" raw converter when doing my largest prints (16x20 and larger). It won't even run under Vista and they tell me it is "months away" from being ready.

I haven't gotten to installing Roxio yet. I wanted to see if they had an update for Vista. Same for ZoneAlarm (my firewall). I'm simply avoiding those until I hear more.

Luckily, RawShooter Premium, Adobe Lightroom, PhotoShop CS3, ProShow Producer and ACDSee all run under Vista and that's mainly what I need.

I'm also using ACDSee 9 with no problems. During installation Windows does say something about incompatibility, I just ignored it and installed it anyway. It hasn't had any issues so far.

Oh, okay. I think you all must be using the standard version of ACDSee and not the Pro version? According to the web site (at least all I could find), 8.1 is the last release of ACDSee Pro. I'll just install when I get my Vista CD later this week and pray for the best.

As long as Photoshop CS2, Bridge and Camera RAW work I should be okay. I think I have seen where others have posted that these are running without issue.

I'm guessing I will have to upgrade my virus protection software which is a real bummer because I currently have a perpetual license through my work place but because they are still on XP they don't have a Vista version available yet. Hopefully they will soon so that I wouldn't have to buy it.

Any other Vista feedback/details you all feel worth sharing would be appreciated if you have them. I'm kind of excited about getting it but hope it's worth the couple headaches I'm sure I will have with some incompatibilities.

Thanks again!
