I wanted to share some photos from the Santa Barbara skateboard park. I went there the other day to take photos for sacred places, as skateboarding was something very important to me during my youth. The skateboard park was like my holy place, my church. This skatepark is AMAZING, right on the beach with palm trees everywhere. I wish I grew up out here! Anyway, the beauty of the park, the lines and the curves, as seen at sunset, made it very difficult for me to get a shot I was happy with. I felt it was necessary to take a wide view which showed the setting but I also wanted action shots of people doing tricks. Of course, I know the secret to this from my video shoots with my XL1, a fish-eye lens and a really low angle, neither of which was possible. I have a few shots I'm somewhat pleased with but I decided to go with a different subject for the Sacred Places challenge. I'm curious to know which shot you like the best as well as which one you would have submitted to the challenge. Thanks.
Here's the link to the collection. Hope it works.
