Dpchallenge the Magazine, its kind of got a ring to it?

It just crossed my mind, why doesn't Dpchallenge have a magizine, I mean with all the amazing talent around here, I almost think that would be a hit.

Hell there maybe one out there already and I just don't know about it, and if there is how come I don't know about it, I've been a member for a while now. All I'm saying is I would subscribe. Bet my nephew, mother, and father would too, and probably at least two friends around here. How many else, with all the members here? Mabye a question for site council, or Langdon, or whoever else pull the strings around this paradise. <---(not sarcastically), seriously I $%@#$#$ love this place, magazine or not.

I'd like to see that too. I'd subscribe. Hell, I'd work for them if they were hiring. Langdon, need an editor?

I've recently been checking out JPG Magazine - a user-submitted magazine and I think DPC could easily acquire the content necessary to do regular issues.

Have you gotten your free copy yet? I'm still waiting on mine.

Could you imagine that photo by Librodo this week on the cover The Best of 2006? I bet it would fly off the shelves.

Not yet... but I did get a BUNCH of votes for submission in the issue in editing now, will find out in a couple of weeks if I'm in and get my free year subscription. :P

Hell the winners for each week could make up half the magazine, and then add the honorable mentions, and the up and comers along with kids on here that are kickin butt. Amazing stories out there, I'm sure.

Another thing, how come Shutterfly and all these other print businesses wouldn't pay for advertising, how much business do they get from here?

It would be rather easy to do as an electronic publication like the pBase Magazine...

Maybe if we can get a hundred pages of thumbs up it would help out the cause. LOL, you got mine.

Owe and idnic, that cover is awesome, very funny. I like that funny approach, sort of like Maxim, which I can't get enough of either.

There was the unofficial magazine that has been collecting dust but may make a comeback someday - once the publisher figures out how to justify the time involved and the expense of paying its informants. :)

PDF (Acrobat) pages would be easy to assemble and distribute ... getting people to stick to some semblance of a consistent format might be a bit tricky though.

I can put together a "sample issue" if people want to submit/suggest content.

You know maybe even some of the more hillarious forum conversations over the month could make it in the editions.
01/27/2007 01:11:13 AM · #17
A joke forum for jokes of the month pages.

I have several suggestions GeneralE, and I would be honored to mention them. Some of them.....ok, maybe all of them suck, but I would still mention them. As I have already.

It would simply need to be managed by a group of people to keep things consistent... a small group.

At the same time John, keep it real, I think alot of submitted stories would be cool from people around the site, and around the country.

There is no problem with that. We just need a small group of people to collect all that stuff and put it together.

Like three ... : )

I have over 25 years working in graphic design, and access to most professional desktop publishing tools.
