Here are some of the photos I rated high that did not make the top 10 and didn't finish anywhere near where I thought they would (and to add a rant, a photo that didn't even use one of the song titles from the list scored 6.2!!!!! Crazy).

25th place
113th place
29th place
116th place

Mine was very underrated...so much so that I self DQ'ed the image.

Ah, sorry about that. We all tend to think our own shots are underrated when they don't score what we thought they would.

Well, there were comments that indicated to me everyone was seeing something in the shot as something it wasn't and were scoring it based on that.

TaylorM (my daughter) got her highest score to date in this challenge -- I'm really proud of her and she's very happy!

One of the great woody shots of all time. Not exactly underrated, in 16th place, but I think it deserved a ribbon:

Startling and metaphorical, strange and eerie composition, determinedly "non-DPC" and totally robbed (IMO) at 155th place with a 5.1 score:

That one is very eerie as you said, it reminded me of the last scene in "Blair Witch Project".

My underrated faves:

by gwrecker finished 162nd.

by 99Percent finished 155th.

by chele finished 138th.

by TaylorMfinished 107th.

by skewsmefinished 94th.

My feelings on the matter are any composition that is SO literal as shooting just buttons to go with the title "buttons" doesn't pull big scores from me. But you're right, skewsme's shot deserved more than 94th.

i'm not complaining about the low score, but it just irks me that a lot of people are crying "too much neat image!!".

it was a doll! of course it looks shiny and smooth :p

the one by 99percent was a fave too! i wasnt able to vote this week though :(

Ah well . . if theres a chance for a proud parent vote :-) my daughter view360 got her highest ever score as well. It's always a thrill to see all the youngsters coming through, and not just competing but also scoring favourably against people many of whom have more experience, time and often better kit. I'm not sure how many other diciplines would let people from age 11 compete with all comers. So let's here a big shout for the Junior section ! Here's my girls picture -

I want to know if I can get some lessons from the Jr. Section! Those were both excellent shots!

here's one that was too clever for many, including me the first time around.

But not for Zeuss, I guess that's why he has a godlike name . . :-)

I thought it would make it to the top Jedusi - i liked the BW image so much. The expression and the fell of your picture is amazing and it should have been placed much higher

one of two tens I gave the whole challenge
and two of my niners, I thought these would both be top ten

I liked this one, because of the humour, but also because I thought the composition was well handled. That horrified look on her face could easily have dominated the shot, taking away from the subject of the shot - which was the 'dirty little secret' - but instead it's neatly tucked away: central enough for it to be noticed, but out of the DOF so that it doesn't overpower. The colours are a bit odd, but I think they give it a nice off-the-wall sort of feel.

I also liked the minimalism in this one, and how brilliantly it referenced the stills from the actual movie:
