Well, I got my new Canon G2. I'm so psyched! I'm still learning all the bells and whistles, but in the mean time I'm making my list of must have filters and lenses to get. I was wonder what telephoto and wide angle lenses you G2 users recommend.

congrats! i love mine! I would also like to know the answer to that question. and also, can we interchange them, or do they have to be done in a shop, professionally?

Thanks :) I had a really hard time getting one. They were out of stock everywhere around her too. I had to drive 2 1/2 hours to Humble, Tx to buy one. But it was worth it.

Yep, the Canon G2 is very nice. I was a big Nikon fan and this is my first Canon and its great.

I really wanted a Digital SLR but too much bucks for my level of camera use. But the G2 has some cool features like add-on lenses and a hot shoe set-up.

I would suggest getting a lensmate attachment as soon as possible. It protects your camera lense and offers supplemental lense attachmenet capabilities.

lensmate here

Does anyone have any experience with the lens/filter adapter available for the canon s30/s40. I found it at
//www.ckcpower.com/s3040.htm

(sorry, tried to make it a hyperlink, but only got a large mass of black space underneath...)

I''ve had my G2 since last October and the more I use it the better I like it. It goes everywhere with me, especially places I feel uncomfortable taking my D1 system. I have the 1.5 telephoto Canon makes and find it gives excellent quality besides increasing the 35mm equivilent focal leingh to around 150mm. One other thing. I got a Casio QV4000 for my wife and found it uses the same Canon lens. After getting Casio''s adaptor, we can both use the same telextender.

On the subject of filters, my advise would be to be very carefull with them. I''ve found digital cameras to be much more sensative to filter color than film, even a UV filter gives ''unexpected'' relults and those results are usually hard to bring back to normal in Photoshop. That program can be your filters anyway.
