Is it unusual to have 300 plus submissions and nowhere near 300 votes on a challenge? Looking at All Alone it seems to be that way...I have never noticed that before if it happens much.

I have certainly seen that happen before, not sure how usual or unusual it is.

I think it may depend on the challenge. If it is one likely to be filled with particularly exciting shots it is more likely to draw in more non entrants voting I feel.

I do think it is a shame though if there are less people voting than entering :(

Wait till they do the "Take a photo of a naked cheerleader drinking beer with her motorbike/sports car" challenge. For that there will probably be 10 entries and about 8,659 people voting!

I don't know if it's usuall, but I just went back to one that I remembered had a lot of entries, Fauna, which had 315. Both my entry and the winner got about 260 votes. I think maybe what happens is that as many people vote as ever, it's just that fewer people are able to get around to placing a vote on all entries. So you end up with the average voter only getting to about 250.

I'm at about 247 right now (three 2's inna row but who's counting) and hoping some of them get thrown out...

I've got 252 votes so far. Seems about the usual.

I'm almost done voting & commenting on all the shots myself - though I am getting a little burnt out on 'All Alone'. 331 may have been too many to try to do.

Hopefully I'll get to those last 48 but time is cutting short!

Speed up the process Lucid. Cut and paste the following as a comment on EVERY photo and then delete as appropriate

I think your photo is beautiful/clever/interesting/sucky, the composition is perfect/cluttered/decomposed. The exposure and DOF are correct/stuffed/"impossible to see as my glasses are steamed up". I recommend you "keep taking these wonderful photos"/"keep trying to improve"/"sell your camera and buy a new washing machine"/"see a shrink".

LOL, there's an idea.

I'm going to take a nap and come back to try and finish, if I start getting down to crunch time I may just use it!

;)

I think your photo is beautifully sucky, and the composition is perfectly decomposed. The exposure and DOF are impossible . I recommend you keep trying to sell your new washing machine before you shrink all your clothes.

That's hillarious. But I think LucidLotus did a great job. I thank you LucidLotus for the nice comment on my entry. I am sure that there are a lot of other people out there just as grateful to you as I am. I am trying to read the comments on the All alone and almost every one has a comment of yours. I find this great. Because you give your time and get nothing for it. Not too many can be as generous as to give without expecting something in return. God knows how much each of us is waiting for a comment and how disappointing it is when there is none. I will try to learn faster more things about photography and give more time to the comments.
