Hi, I was wondering where I should get my photos printed. Should I goto Kinkos and use the Sony ImageStation, or Should I just goto Ritz, and have them print it there? Are there any better places? One more thing, approximatly how much does it cost to print out and 8x10? I would really appreciate a response. Thanks.

This is one of those tough questions because of pricing. Many places have the same prices but some stores' prices actually differ.

Some places differ because of it's location. In San Francisco some prices are actually more expensive then the places 5-10 miles out.

My brother tried the Sony ImageStation and the photos came out really good. The only problem was the expense. I believe he had them done at the Sony Metreon in the city.

Do you plan to do mail order or have it done at a local place. Let us know the city or country you're from and someone may be able to help.

I have a sony camera, but would never use a sony image station kiosk. The quality is extremly poor, color come out all wrong. I own a Canon i950 printer, and it produces exellent prints. I use it for all my clients projects along with my own. I tried a sony kiosk out at kinkos and was extremly dissapointed, I actually thought it would be better than my $250 printer, definatly a wrong move on my part.

Pony up the 25 bucks for full membership here, and use DPC Prints for your prints. Quality is always superior, and consistent. They have all the sizes, great prices, and easy shipping options.

I always recommend DPC Prints - their printing process is better than any of those kiosks, and the printers have the expertise to make your digital prints look great, unlike many photo processing stores you can use like WalMart, or Rite Aid, or whatever.

I agree with Steve and John - I've had some prints processed through DPC Prints: quality, prices and turnaround time are all terrific. I highly recommend this service.

Yes, very fast! all my orders have come in 2-3 days after placing the order. Quality is excellent, too.

What is the cost of prints from DPCPrints?

the cost to print at DPC Prints is VERy competetive with other places or lower than other places.

I had my first print done not long ago and it was a panorama shot at 20x24 and it came out great, better than i had hoped for.

Now if you need prints RIGHT away wolf camera (ritz camera) has an online deal where you upload your images and select the sizes you want printed, select a store near you (if its available in your area) and you can go pick them up that same day.

But from reading a lot of the post here, DPC prints offers Outstand print quality.

The one thing that seasoned photographers agree on. If or Once you find a printing lab that does good work, whether it is DPC or else where, stay with them. Quality is everything.

There was another thread/post recently that addressed home printer inks and their longetivity. Another reason to have acccess to a professional lab.

Glad to hear such good reviews of DPC. Another benefit.
