My wife dropped my 1-month old Canon 50mm/f1.4. Ouch!! The glass is not cracked, but it doesn't focus anymore, not even manually. Is it possible or worth it to repair it? Thanks.

go to a local camera repair and get an estimate and go from there

Yes. The repair might run anywhere from $75 to $200, but that's cheaper than a new one, and they might even fix it under warranty.

if it shows no signs of misuse you can most likely sucker them into saying its an internal mechanical error

Sounds like it landed front-side-down. Be up-front, let then know it was dropped. Likely, they can tell anyway fromt the type of damage. It should be cheaper than a new lens, for sure.
