Hello all,

Like many photogs out there, my Christmas gift plan this year was to make custom photo calendars and send them out to friends and family. As usual, I'm running behind in my Christmas shopping efforts, so was wondering if someone can recommend a good place to have calendars made? Either online, or at a store? I know that Staples and Kinkos does them, but am not sure of their quality. Any feedback and recommendations appreciated! :)

Would printing them at home and binding them at Kinkos be an option for you?

Mpix.com

Sony ImageStation. They have a really nice layout, and discounts!

Thanks for the input guys :)

Well, printing at home was not an option, and Mpix.com only makes the wall calendars with only one photo. So I ended up trying imagestation! The layout and price was great! About $15 for an 11x17 calendar with 12 Photos! Thanks for the tip Kelli.

Do you know how long the "production time" usually is from imagstation? The web site says between 1-10 days + shipping time, which is not ver precise at all :S

Photoworks was 5 days + shipping time for a photobook.

Did you download MPIX software? They definitely have an option for 12 pictures using that. They also allow you the option to add your own credentials on the reverse.

They are very fast. I ordered 100 cards to be printed on Sunday, they'd arrived on Tuesday.

MPIX Calendars

They have two different sizes and numerous templates to choose from.

Just in case you need something for the future.

I've gotten stuff from ImageStation in about a week. Sometimes faster. I haven't ordered at holiday rush time though. I really do like their quality.

Best I found while researching features and price wise was costco.com (Only for those in the US). I can't comment on actually quality since they don't ship to Canada. However the really neat feature was one or multiple picture for the month, PLUS the ability to add both text and picture to specific days!

ops read that you had trouble finding where to go...
first register:
//www.costcophotocenter.com/registration

then
select the "products" tab, -> calendar -> viola

No, with Mpix you can make 12 month calendars with each month being a different photo. All you have to do is download Mpix Press. I just ordered some for a customer of mine, she said they're beautiful.

shutterfly.com does it as does kodak.com (although I wasn't as impressed with their quality).

LuLu Press

I get all of my calendars made from them. They are like $11 per calendar and I think less if you get a certain amount more. They do good work and they ship fast! :)

If you have a Deviant Art Print account, you can make calendars there too. I haven't yet, but I am working on next years already.

Another plug for MPIX,

I placed an order with them (10 different pictures x 24 cards = 240 cards) on Wednesday 13th December @ 3.00pm. I paid for overnight shipping @ $9.95 (very cheap in my humble opinion) and the FEDEX tracker tells me the package will be with me 3.00pm today. This is during probably one of MPIX busiest times of the year. I'm definitely impressed with their turnaround times - beats the 7 - 10 days I've waited with other places like Kodak, Photoworks etc.

I am from India, Printing is kind of cheap here and i guess quality is not what you get in USA( it is not bad but i guess publishing Industry in USA is advance)

Last year my I helped my Uncle Print a calender on his 40th Wedding Anniversary, He must have paid say some where like 900-1000$ for 300 calender, initial 100 calender were expensive than every 100 calende must be like 2-3$,

They were printed on offset Press( i mean the normal way aprinting is done for books and stuff).

In all calender turned out great.

i am talking of a calender with Photo on one page and Calender on the other page, It was a Wall Calender with Spiral Binding.
