There's a chance I will travel in January to Boston for a couple of days.
I'm planning in getting a D200 or D2X in that month, and if I'm going to US this could mean some $$$ saving.
Is there a good (cheap) and reliable store in Boston? Can I buy the camera and I woill not be having any problems in the airport when getting back? Any experience on this matter?
Thanks.

I generally buy from B&H (If you are in NY, it's worth a visit) - cheaper and no state sales tax for me (not sure if you can claim the sales tax back or not).
These are FAR from B&H but Hunts will mostly have what you want to look at. The other main one - I have not been here - is Zeff. Both are out of the city a bit but I believe that Hunts has a shop in the city somewhere.
I have never had issues getting out of the US. I have had hassels going into Australia but I am a citizen and they are pathetic at trying to charge the natives taxes and fees. I think your issues would be on your side - maybe snail mail the boxes back to home (or junk them, deoending on your nature). Mix some old with the new.... Not that I have given this any thought in the past mind :-)

There's a Calumet in Boston (Cambridge actually, but it's literally down the street...or across the river, to be more accurate). They're a nationwide chain but are more specialized and pro-oriented than say Ritz. They compete with B&H and are bigger than most people seem to think--I've gotten them to match B&H's prices several times, plus they usually have good people working there who are willing to help. Might be worth a look.
Good luck! |

I prefer B&H, but if I need something in a hurry I go to Calumet Photo. Its the biggest in the Boston area, prices near or comparable to B&H, and they sell extendeded warranties.
