DQ just because of 2 black dots penciled-in on the 2 lamps on the lightpost. This image should not be disqualified. I was told I moved a part of the image and relocated it. That was not the case. This image means something. It relates to James Bond not only because of the title Goldeneyes, but becuase of the English derived Illuminati.

doing so will REALLY gets you a DQ.

Even if you didn't like the reason given the above is enough for a DQ under standard rules.

write to them through the proper channels.
there might still be chance to "save" your entry.

Are you suggesting that your edit would not change a typical viewer's description of the photograph?

If it's the one that I think it is, then the dots made the eyes, which made the photo. It wouldn't be quite the same without them.

Shame about a DQ, but there you go.

I thought you made the dots by using curves, which is an easy way to make blown spots grey or all the way down to black. (And the centres of the lights could easily have been blown.) Just by putting some anchors along the curve to hold it in place, and pulling the right end down.

Doh!

I get it now . So I basically COMPLETELY transformed the image by adding 2 small black specks. I see.

If your concept is Goldeneyes, and the only eyes in your entry were drawn in with a pencil tool, then yes.

good thing stupidity isn't illegal!!

no no, not the eyes. THE DOTS ! not the eyes. Where is your logic? how many people spot edited on their photos??? i only put 2 dots. On lights, that were already there. Im sorry, but I disagree totally with the SC on this matter. Stupidity, yea.. right, uh huh. Thanks.

You put two dots in the lights to turn the lights into eyes and make the image represent "goldeneye". There were no eyes there to beging with. By adding the dots you completely transformed the photograph. Does that make sense?

Haven't seen the picture, but it sounds like you are saying you turned some lights, into eyeballs, by drawing pupils on them ?

So you went from a picture that was nothing to do with 'goldeneye' to one that had eyeballs in it, by the pupils you added in later ?

That's exactly it.

well...Im only mad because of the fact that Im suspended for a week and had my hard work for the upcoming Death challenge ready for submission. Personally, my photo was suspended due to a surplus of attention that it recieved . 7 comments in one day. Why else would the SC keep the photo hidden . It's not even available for display on my profile. Symbols make art. Meanings. Apparently this site is not about art.

Well. The past is the past. This was taken in a Masonic lodge garden. It's essentially the same photo as the other one, except according to the SC, the other photo entered looks like a bananna split with eyes, whipped cream, cherries and completely transformed.

It's not hidden. When the voting is over, it will appear at the end of the challenge results along with any other DQ'd entries.

Trust me....7 comments in one day is nothing compared to some images and their comments...and your image will be available for viewing after voting is completed...normally anyway!

I seriously doubt it got a dq because of the attention. More likely you recieved 7 comments in one day directly or indirectly because of the illegal editing...

It's not available for display because it is still a challenge entry even if DQ'ed. It will be visible as soon as the voting period is over like all the rest of the entries.

If its any consolation there were about 10-12 other entries DQ'd. At least by my estimation anyways. I seem to remember about 104 entries and now there's only 92.

I think I am going to be 92nd now. Before I would have been 104th...

Anyways.

Just out of curiousity, what exactly did you expect to gain by calling out the site council in this way?
12/05/2006 05:03:57 PM · #24
There are a lot of DQs in this. More than I can remember in any one challenge previously. Also, has to be the most percentage wise.
12/05/2006 05:04:12 PM · #25
gain? justice ! No, just feedback from them, they are all hardworking and dedicated to their passion. But , sometimes people tend to over do it. Whether it's here or anyother business. For example. The person with the job to report and write up lateness in a company. If that person gets bored, then the the person will look to write up anyone even if they come in 3 minutes late. Or police men for example. If everyone in the world was righteous and did the right thing, how will they meet their quotas? Find a way to write a summons to the innocent guy with tinted windows.
