I'm looking for a point and shoot camera for my little brother for Christmas. He is always outside climbing mountains, snow boarding, or hiking so he needs something durable. He likes to take pictures but does not do anything to advanced.

I'm trying to stay in a $200 budget.

any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks
Armando

I keep seeing this question and the answer seems to be the same, Canon A540 or SD600.

Winning photo with Canon P&S A530 that belongs to my sister-in-law. They just returned from Hawaii and the photos were great! Here's one that won POTD in Sept. 2006.

I'm partial to my Canon A620. It's kind of old now, but there's an equivalent with 10+ mega-pixels and all the same frills. The A640.

It's a lot of camera for the money.

Those little Nikon Coolpix L series take pretty nice pics. I got my daughter one with a card for about $150. Here's a photo I took with it of my stuff.

That's a lot of lenses with red lines on them. I wish one of my lenses has a red line on it.
