Report it to the websites - one of them is stealing

It would appear to be tiberiu. Several other images of his appear in the portfolios of other istockphoto photographers. He's even stolen the keywords.

I'd say it looks bad for someone,.....unless the same person has another name they go by..?

I sent Lisa Gagne an e-mail; she's the one that should deal with this.

Lame, lame, lame! Some people just have no morals. :(

Idiot..

In all honesty, since neither of the photog's are members of this community (at least I don't think they are), it really is none of our business. Let Lisa deal with it. Bear has sent her an email, it is her business not ours.

Calling names and insulting people is poor form.

I emailed the other photographer at iStock too.

The other? Every image in his portfolio is stolen. I emailed Shutterstock. That seems easiest. They can handle it between agencies.

Even better....

not to beat a dead horse, I googled 'tiberiu george' and he seems to be steeling a lot of pictures. I hope for everyones sake they make an example out of him. you just kind of wonder who else is out there steeling pictures.

I think Mr. George didn't understand that when they told him to take some pictures - they didn't mean steal them.

Get it...take pictures.. Okay, yeah I know that was bad. Heheh...Photography humor...

That fish pic has been in the top 50 in shutterstock for a while too so he must have been making quite a lot of money from it (and likely the others) too. You see the same shots on so many sites that it's easy to just assume it's by the same photographer. Shame that isnt' always true :( Good spotting, tho.

So was he buying the images and then submitting them to other sites or what? Weirdness.

I heard back from Shutterstock very quickly after I wrote them which I thought was pretty nice.

I just wonder what other sites he was uploading to???? Hmmmm.

the ramifications of this are huge, I think. at least to my little mind.

photographer A submits a picture. photogB steals it, submits it elsewhere and starts making money off of it. B gets caught. does he pay restitution? do they pursue it legally? (and my big question) will A get the payment that was rightfully hers to begin with?

I think it would be fair if shutterstock paid royalities to the real owners of the pictures in question, but who am i? they will probably get a 'sorry about your luck'
