Hi,
When I use photoshop 7 to create duotone pictures, I cannot save the pictures in jpeg, and I'm also losing all the exif data!!I think that these data are required for the challenge....
Could someone let me know how to keep the exif data, I haven't posted my picture for the "all alone" challenge yet!!!

Thanks!!!

Keep your original and work on a copy. Never work on the only copy of an image. That way you have one still retaining the exif data, and showing it's original form.

As I just found out, that is very important.

Thanks for your help, but I have already worked on the copy. And it's when I want to save the picture in duotone mode that photoshop doesn't let me save it in jpeg. And then I lose all the exif data!!

When you submit the picture to the challenge, does this picture contain the exif data?

For the use of others: Duotone mode is "proprietary" to Photoshop and can only saved in Photoshop and EPS formats.

Once you have the duotone colors the way you want, change the mode again to RGB and you'll be able to save in TIFF or JPEG formats.

If you use "Save for Web" you will LOSE the EXIF data. If you use "Save As" or "Save As Copy" it will retain the EXIF. However, for DPC, EXIF data is NOT required for the submitted file, only for the original file as captured by the camera.

I used the "Save for Web" mode and effectively lost all the EXIF data. Thank you for the advice for switching from duotone to RGB to keep the EXIF data.

Always keep the original and make a duplicate to work on. Basically have multiply copies of the shot.

My harddrive is usually full because I have the original(exif info), a save as web version (send over net), and a psd version(so I can tweak around later without going through the steps.

I burn a disk every 2-3 weeks full of photos.
