Hey Lisa,
I know it was a lot of work to put it together and in my opinion, needs some massaging. My first instinct watching it is that the picture to picture transitions and on-screen times are too fast.
I don't know what program you are using, but if you have the ability to use some rotation once in a while, mix it in. (Ken Burns effect) Simple zoom in, zoom in, zoom in doesn't flow smoothly.
I spent more hours than I ever imagined putting a slide show together, and it's a lot of work, but when it flows, it leaves the viewer with an ahhhh feeling. The wrong motion or too fast of motion can leave the viewer feeling uncomfortable.
One thing I tried to do in mine, was find a focal point in a picture, then using the motion tools, start the movement at the focal point and zoom/pan out, or start wide and end up traveling to the focal point.
Here is the web-sized, lower resolution version of the one I made. (may need to install the Photodex plugin)
Friends & Memories If the VCR controls don't work, right-click on screen for stop, play, etc.
Hope this gives you some options for other ways to make the image transitions, and hope you don't take offense to what seems like a blast on your slideshow, but it's my honest input. |
