So I was a day early on this. Not that my photo is entry worthy but the situation certainly fits.
This photo was taken on Monday. It happened sunday.
Famous last words... I dunno. We said "Are you seriously going over the balcony?" And then after he lost the finger he said "I can't believe I just did that." or "Did that really just happen?" I can't remember, I was preoccupied with the realization of what he was talking about.
Needless to say, a crazy weekend. Sad but he's a trouper. |

Aw, that's too bad! Hope he feels better.
I've been googling for some ideas, and can't help but realize that most of these "famous last words" were made by men, of which I have no models (or willing models). Come to think of it, the only model who I can get to do anything for me anymore is my 10 year old sister, who still requires payment in trips to the mall to shop, and at least $10 in purchases (or more for those extra demanding, long sessions I force her through.) That, or I can buy her fake nails and she is happy, but then I just get in trouble with my mom ;) |

Sorry to hear about the missing finger, give my best to Jordy and buy him a beer from me :)
Anyway, regarding this challenge I am totally clueless, "famous last words" is not something we really have here in Iceland so would be great if some of you guys could list up a couple of well known last words so the rest of us can get an idea what to shoot for :P |

in the context of the challenge description it is more of a figure of speech than someone's actually famous last words. so something like a person about to jump an alligator pit on a motorcycle says " I can make this easy" to be followed by him not making it and being eaten by the gators. or a snake handler saying "snakes don't bite me cause i know how to handle them" followed by one of them biting his dumb ass right in the nose. |

One of my favorites was spoken by General John Sedgewick, a Union Commander during the U.S. Civil War. Just before he was fatally shot by enemy sniper fire, he said, "They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance."

More of cliche but this one always works.
"It's only going to hurt a little bit." |

So to cheer him up you bought him a new guitar?

I did a bit of a Google search and came upp with the following, which may help people get started:
//www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/6537/
//www.gdargaud.net/Humor/LastWords.html
//www.famousquotes.me.uk/famouslastwords.htm
My favourite so far is Humphrey Bogart whose last words are perported to be "I should never have switched from Scotch to Martinis..." |

Nah, not so bad off the right hand, as the left is the hand that forms the notes on the frets. |

he was about to buy it at Guitar Center and we rushed out because my boyfriend and I needed to leave and get home. Then that's when it happened as they were having a last smoke on the balcony.
So yea. We bought him the guitar. |

Yep. He can play just fine. He was so happy! We hid it in his old guitar case and told him we restrung his old one and to take a look. He about shit himself when he saw the new one. |

I hope that people feel that making our own saying won't automatically exclude it from meeting the challenge. |

"Famous Last Words" is just an expression. While it also refers to the final words of celebrities, it is more often used as a form of sarcasm for a claim that turns out to be completely wrong or ill-advised. Famous last words generally come right before the speaker's death or failure due to stupidity, ignorance or unfounded optimism. |

Yes, sarcasm is a tricky thing to communicate via prose...
Best title for any and all images in the Famous Last Words challenge would be 'this shot should score really well'. |
