Hi all,

Challenge #9 (Classic Lady) is now in the voting stage. When voting, please note that DPC Advanced Editing rules are not in effect for this challenge.

Challenge #10 is now accepting submissions through November 17th:

Thanks to idnic for this shot! This time, we're going to all have a try at producing a B/W image that minimizes distraction and enhances the photo overall. A tutorial is linked in the challenge description. Who's got the B/W mojo?

All DPChallenge users are welcome to play along and/or vote! Please during voting, read the challenge rules in the descriptions, and vote accordingly given the rules and desired effects.

Today is the last day to vote in Challenge #8. I'll post the winning edit tomorrow.

Cheers,
-Jeff

Don't thank me - you do great work!

Though personally I think if mine had your sky, I'd have been a shoe-in! ;)

In case you can't get to the video tutorial linked in Challenge #10 description, here's a brief rundown:

The tutorial is just about creating two hue/saturation adjustment layers - the top one desaturates, while the lower one can control the levels of individual color hues. This way, you can control the desaturation process and vary it by color.

This is just one technique you can use when converting to B/W. Feel free to use others as well.

Cheers,
-Jeff

Oooooooooh we have 10 participants already signed up for Challenge #10 - that will be a record. C'mon guys, it takes a few minutes, its free, and its a great way to either show off your editing skill or learn some editing tips. Have a go. :)

There are 13 now, and a total of 8 submissions entered already. This one will be fun!

BTW, I had a couple people email me questions about the challenges. Feel free to ask your questions in these threads, if it's a general question, as these sites are intended to be closely tied.

Also, we've edited idnic and 777stan's photos because they uploaded them to the site. Thanks guys! If you have images you'd like to see everyone edit, you can do the same! I go through these uploads and post new challenges about every 4 days. If nobody uploads, we have to use my own boring shots! ;)

Cheers,
-Jeff
