Me too! I am in another city this week, so if I can find the time to get a postcard shot, I'd be happy. Otherwise, the "commercial" postcards from my home city are world famous--I'll just have to create a personal one just as good. ;-)

Text can be added on borders ! and on image itself, will most people just write their monikers?

I just winged (wung?) it with a subtle, elegant pic I like that I'd make into a postcard in a heartbeat.

FWIW, "subtle" and "elegant" do not typically work with postcards in the real world :-) Garish and obvious is more like it, jejeje™

Of course, DPC isn't the "real world", is it?

I am loving this challenge.. can't use my "multiple image" technique but I will muddle through some how...
These are postcard experiments from months ago....

Well....

Thanks for dashing my hopes.....8>)

Hey, you never know 'til you submit something whether or not it'll fly.

I was stunned at the reception I got from my totally off the wall, UGLY self-portrait......and got virtually nothing but two negative comments on my long exposure entry that did well for me.....at least relative to my normal score.

I have *NO* clue what's gonna make people thrilled here.....

Ok, question.

new baby / home-cards, happy birthday-cards, congratulations on a wedding-cards, are these postcards too, or should I seek in the landscapes-style?

Postcards and greeting cards are different things. Postcards are usually just souvenirs of a place. They don't have to be landscapes, but they do need to be representative of the place somehow.

I can't find the old postcard challenge. Hasn't there been one?

I'm in :D

I'm in - but I am afraid mine might look too much like a postcard to do well in this challenge.

I forgot to get something to enter! I am going to have to figure this out!

I'm afraid people are only going to think of postcard in the sense of something you'd buy at the visitor's booth or the hotel desk. Postcards are used for other purposes too and I hope people keep that in mind.

I've not done one, but I'm just wondering how "literal" the voting public is going to be.

I plan on being overly literal. I won't have time to vote though, so you are safe.

I tend to be pretty literal when it comes to the challenge criteria, but I am working on being much more open-minded. I believe a post card can have most anything on it. It doesn't have to show a building or landscape. So, don't sweat voters like me.
