I want to know what the "Workshop" page is about, what it's for, and how can I use it to advantage. There must be someone out there that can tell me :) Thanx for the info.

I think it is a mystery, kind of like what makes cheese yellow and orange.

Its a great place to put images that you want to post on DPC, but don't want part of your own porfolio. For example, someone asks for help editing a shot, you edit and uplaod a version for them. The workshop folder isn't viewable by others, but you can link images to forums from there.

I'll often put my challenge outtakes in there so I can add the thumb to the description of my entry, then move them after the challenge is over.

Thanks idnic, I too have really been wondering what the Workshop folder was for. Learn something new everyday.

That's usually due to added carotene (Vitamin A precursor); same with butter.

I got some florida oranges a few days ago... bag says "artificially colored". Are they talking 'bout the outside, to make em more orange? What do they do that with?

How's that for a thread-jacking?!?! ;)

Mine is usually always greenish-blue and fuzzy. Says Sharp Cheddar on the side.

I use the workshop-folder also as a space for my challenge entries, to show them to friends.

I use my workspace folder to hide the fact that I dip my apples into orange food colouring and then I sell them as oranges.

Does that answer your questions???

How do you show friends things in your Workshop folder? I use it for my challenge entries until voting is finished, because I think it's only fair to maintain anonymity. If the entries are in your portfolio, friends can go look for it and then give you an inflated score. Hmmm, now there an idea ;)

members here can't see my workshop-folder, only when I provide a link.

Not completely, but this did: From Food.com:
Some oranges are artificially colored with a harmless vegetable dye (this is permitted in Florida, but not in California or Arizona), while others may show traces of green although they are ripe. Florida oranges are likely to be slightly greenish, while California oranges are usually a true orange color.

And now we know. :)

As far as I am aware that isn't true. Your challenge entries aren't able to be seen until the end of voting regardless what folder they are stored in.

Can SC please verify this?

It's marketing. Many consumers don't think non-orange oranges are ripe.
(Back to the regularly scheduled rant.)

If I'm understanding and I admit I didn't read the whole thread that closely.
For him to post challenge entries in his Workshop folder and show them to his 'friends' ..then he is posting copies of them there. They don't automatically go to the Workshop folder.
I hope that's the answer to the right question.
If not I'm here a while.

true. you can't link the photo that's still in the process. you have to upload another copy to be able to show the photo.
