Hi,
Anyone up tonight that could give me some help? I shot pics for a senior yesterday and need to submit his file for the yearbook tomorrow. (Braces came off on Monday, shoot Tuesday, deliver Thurs situation :)

I am giving him the digital file tomorrow a.m. but he wasn't sure what the picture dimensions should be. It appears that 2x3" is pretty standard based on a little web research. Anyone know if this is a standard size? And should I size to actual print size @300dpi or ???

Waiting by, photoshop at ready!

thanks,
Mark

2x3 sounds right. I'd crop using the selection tool in Fixed Aspect ratio Mode to crop to a 2x3 ratio and leave the file at full res. The reason I'd leave it at full res is that your DPI depends on the screen being used to print.

It's common practice to use a DPI in desktop publishing at least double the screen DPI. Since you don't have these numbers, I'd give them a full res image and let them do the resize they need.

And most often a yearbook isn't even close to 300 DPI :-)
