Why didn't you vote Larry;

By the way congratulations on your score and placement in this challenge with a great image by the way..... "Before the Sun", which I gave a very high score to.....

Amazingly, in this challenge most of the top 10 were also in my top ten.

The 3 photos that I had in my top 10 that didn't make the actual were these (still pretty high)

(25th)
(11th)
(12th)

I guess maybe sometimes it is possible that I vote much the same as other people.

I haven't voted in quite a while. I wanted to get my vote to comment ratio to 10:1, so I've only been commenting lately. I got it there last week, so I'll probably strat voting again soon.

Agree with you on those two. I thought there were many good ones in this challenge.

came 33rd but should imo have climbed much higher.

The important thing to remember is that my entry finished 5 spots higher than yours! ;-)

I'd like to give a shout out to my beautiful, underrated 9s:

I quit voting after a handful (less than 20%). There were some very nice images in this challenge, but I was having a hard time getting the challenge to fit the images or vice-versa. The whole "what does morning mean to you" part of the description was throwing me off - I read it too literally I guess. :(

Well deserved kudos to the winners and all that participated.

I did vote on that too. "So that photo of a rock star on the park bench passed out drunk is really what morning means to you?" I guess I was looking for scenes that weren't necessarily extraordinary in setting since that wouldn't be a typical morning for very many people, and I suspect not for very many photographers here, either. All of us who do landscapes have known the pain of getting up at 3am to drive up into the mountains or wherever for a sunrise, so I didn't completely rule that sort of shot out, but I felt like the photos of life were more real. Most of my top picks were beautiful depictions of much more mundane scenes.

My top three:

Other favorites that didn't crack the top ten:

The three I had highest that didn't do especially well:

(I knew this one was doomed but I love it anyway)

(Something about this works very well for me)

(Many have nominated this one; it's a fantastic image and its placement is a mark of the low esteem in which impressionistic shots are held in DPC)

You guys are helping me keep the faith. I didn't vote morning, but did look over the thumbs and saw this one. I loved it, but thought, "well, there's one that's gonna get hammered".

I too found this one to be great. I revoted (and bumped it up) on it 3 times as everytime I passed it, I thought more highly of it and how it was a refreshing entry (fresh perspective).

Yep, this was far and away the best "breakfast" shot of the bunch IMO.
