Challenge: Pink Floyd
Description: Take a song title or song lyrics from the classic rock band Pink Floyd and depict them in a photo.

Hmmmm...

:)

I love the suggestion! My 14 year old and his friends are really into Pink Floyd - and all the other rock music from MY generation. Seems nothing recent is standing the test of time - big surprise. ;-)

This will probably get shot down after two replies to this thread with "Who's Pink Floyd?" ;-)

edit to add: in hindsight, the Pink Floyd reference in the image I posted above may be a little obscure. To explain: the first thing that immediately came to mind was "the lunatic is in my head"

...going back to my wall.

sounds great! any reason to listen to mroe floyd is a good one. there are so many things to do. several people would copy scenes from the wall instead of coming up with something of thier own but those would be cool to.

I think I'll do "several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave grooving with a pict"

I'd say the Wall is better.

The Wall is fantastic but My favorite has been DSOM ever since I heard for the first time in 1973.

.

I could never recreate the environment of the PF concert that I went to. Steady rain, lasers, flying pig, standing on the field of the Orange Bowl, tasty brews, cool buzz...ah! those were the days!

When I was living in England I had friends who went to Germany to see them do the tearing down of the wall concert.
I wish I could make this story more interesting by saying it was me, but I can't.
In fact I don't even know why I bothered typing this.
So I don't think I'll even bother posting it.
Delete.

Does Anybody hear remember Vera Lynn? Remember how she said that we would meet again some sunny day?

Back to the Dark Side - Man, what fun somebody could have with "Time". The clocks......

I'm showing my age again but I saw them twice in 1975. They did Dark Side of the Moon from Heartbeat to Heartbeat. The only thing I can't figure out about DSOM is why did they put "Money" on that album? It's a great song but it just doesn't fit the rest of it. It's like the rest of the album is one long song and they stop in the middle to do money and then continue on. Just my observation.

In college I had quad speakers set up around my room. I loved to listen to DSOM in total darkness and listen to the sounds track from speaker to speaker.

DSOM and Ajia (Steely Dan) were late night staples.

Arnold Layne, Remember a day, Paint Box, Julia Dream. It's a shame Syd Barrett died isn't it?

Ironic, I just replaced my aged Dark Side of the Moon tape with a CD (didn't have much choice, the tape was about to bite the dust). Amazing album!

A good writeup on wikipedia

The Dark Side of the Moon deals conceptually with the pressures of modern life that can drive normal human beings to insanity: materialism, the increased pace of life and travel, the encroachment of old age and death, the inhumanities of society and armed conflict. These themes are not just delivered with words, but are suggested with sounds and lyrics. For example, the sound of an airplane crash in the track "On the Run" represents a fear of flight. "Time" discusses how quickly life can slip by those who are unaware of it, using actual alarm bells to wake the listener. "The Great Gig in the Sky", which had a working title of "The Mortality Sequence", comments on the nature of death. The lyrics and sound effects of "Money" flippantly endorse greed for ironic effect, and states that it is "the root of all evil today".

Very interesting, I've never heard that before. What you said makes perfect sense but it just seems "Musically" it doesn't fit.
