Unfortunately, the only night I had free to go out and shoot for the urban challenge, it was pouring rain. I really wanted submit something since urban landscapes are among my favorite subjects to shoot. Just wanted to get some opinions on these shots taken outside of the legal dates for the challenge:

Emerald Empire
The Needle

Thanks for your time and feedback!

I think both of them would have done well.

But, I wonder if the needle would look better without the ground lights. I covered it up with my hand and its alot less distracting.

But, great pics. Very nice.

I think that they are both beautiful shots but "Emerald Empire" particularily cought my eye, the colors are absolutely gorgous in that photo I would have rated it a 10!

Great suggestion, Riggs. There are a lot distracting lights at the bottom, but I felt the needle needed to be grounded and I'd have to crop it pretty high to cut out the lights. Maybe a closer zoom with just the top half of the needle and the mountains in the background would be better.
