I'm trying to self-teach myself the art of PS...can anyone recommend a good reference manual for the CS version? With so many experts here, I thought it would be a good place to start before I plunk down some money for a poor manual. Thanks.

Martin Evening's book seems to be the defacto standard. I have it and indeed it is a very good grounding. Adobe Photoshop CS for Photographers. I bought a brand new copy on eBay for $8.00, BTW.

Have a look at www.prophotosecrets.com. Spend the small one month trial fee and get hooked. Anything and everything is covered, from first time beginner to experienced, and all in short video format.
