Have taken a couple of recent photos of ginger flowers. The red one is already available as a print, but I'm wondering if I should bother with the spotted one.

Both nice!
I would however, sell them without the borders - let people decide how they mount the photos. |

Thank you!
I actually use borders mostly to avoid excessive resampling of the image. That spotted one is only 4" square @ 300 dpi without the border; with the border it fits the 6x6 print size without a 50% resampling. Using a border also lets me crop to the most esthetic shape; the border can then fill it out to the next largest print size. Also, I figure people can cover or trim off that border if they don't like it.
When I can get a newer camera I'll be able to make bigger borderless prints than I can now. |

Wow! I prefer the the picture of the Spotted Ginger, so you should definetly make the Spotted Ginger available as a print as well! I also like the borders - I feel it adds to the whole effect! |

I can understand that. But when printing make sure you use Solid Black which is 30% yellow, 30% red, 60% blue and 100% black. Do not use registration black or it may come out dark grey.
Sure you know that already tho! ;)

I like both, but prefer the red as a little more defined. I don't know if anyone cares but I believe that these are Cannas and not Ginger...that kind of thing subtracts for this viewer so I post it to be helpful and to raise the question.

I'm admittedly poorer at botany than other sciences. I'll find a couple of long shots of the plants and post them for confirmation of the plant's identity. |

the yellow is better
more detail - more interesting to look at
whether its ginger or not...

I love the spotted one, more interesting to me overall. I like the borders too. Very nice.

I like the spotted yellow one the best. The background is less distracting and to me the colors are a lot better.
The red one is a nice shot but it has a distracting background and I do not like red text on black background.
