Four of us showed up for the Colorado Springs GTG this morning. It was very overcast and rained on us a little, but it was a lot of fun.
Here is a shot of us:

I'll post some more scenery shots later...

Just got home (hit some traffic down in the Springs). That shot came out pretty good JD. Glad you were nimble enough to get up there in time. I'll go through my shots later tonight or tomorrow, I'm pooped.
Nice being able to put faces to names.

Its where a bunch of dorky Colorado DPC'ers climb around on red rocks and call themselves photographers...

Okay, I am kidding. It is short for a get-to-gether or GTG...Usually people in surrounding area get together and shoot with each other and have fun.

Too funny. Thanks.

I really like the B&W tones you've got on these!!! What are you using to convert? Channels, desat?? What's your trick?

Hello Libby,
Sometimes I use Calculations, and sometimes I use the Channel Mixer. For these I used the channel mixer, then adjusted levels on multiple layers with masks. I touched it up a little with some dodge and burn, then used a saturation layer mask to add a very slight hint of color!
See... simple!

aha....masks.....the bane of my photoshop existence. I'm sure they're easier than I'm making them, but I really don't understand them yet. I need a masks tutorial. Perhaps I'll try that calculations trick...never done that.

Looks like you guys had fun. A gtg in my home town and I didn't see it... I should keep up on these forums more often haha.

I'm going to start photo editing after I drop Mary off at the airport this afternoon. I'll post some stuff later today or tomorrow.

We did have a lot of fun. I already knew Libby from when I lived in Illinois, and Eddie and JD are cool guys. I think there are so many shots of each other in there because GotG has so many spots in the Central Gardens where we spent most of our time that just scream out for poses. :D

This is roughly the best half of what I took, and the rest are in my portfolio. I did not take the photo of myself, though, that was Libby.

Nice shots Becky. I like the sepia toned ones. I'm ready for another when there's snow on the ground.
