What do you think was wrong with it?

It looks ok to me, except that you did a real small crop from the original which is why there is all the noise in the shadows I think? What do you think the problem is?

Hi Dawn,

It's hard to say not knowing how close to the original this is and what you've done to the edit. Off-hand, I'd say it's over-exposed. Yes, you've captured the blades without any motion. The sky is totally void of color even though I can tell it's not a back-lit photo. I'd try lowering the the shutter speed to betweem 1/640 to 1/1000 at f/4 with an ISO of 50 - 100. I think the lower ISO would take away some of the grainy-ness. If you're serious about avaition photography send me an e-mail...hope that helps somewhat.

It needs a background instead of just plain white. If changing the shutter speed, apeture, and iso doesn't let you get the helicopter light or dark enough, take two pictures-the first one of the helicopter and the second of the blue sky. Then photoshop the sky into the background of the helicopter picture.

Less contrast would also be a good solution so the helicopter doesn't blend into the white so much.

It is a little grainy. Did you crop it or zoom in a lot? That could cause the graininess.
