What do you think of this as a print?

that's a real nice picture. only thing i would say is crop out most of the black top of the picture...it takes away from the lighter part in the middle. if you divided it between two 'halves' you would get the light in the sky vs the silhouette of the tree and the ground. the black sky takes away from that contrast

loz, you're not the only one. I love the dark sky just how it is. Put it up mav.

Lovely! I'd crop a touch off from the top so that the height of the black sky equals the height of the black at the bottom edge. More balanced that way - almost like a widescreen template.

FWIW Mav, great shot as is, but I like what Kavey said. Just a touch off the top. great work. how much post processing to get the contrast?

Mav - it's a good shot, but I think I'd do the following prior to making it a print:
1. retouch out the distracting tree
2. clone out the gloomy clouds
3. remove the odd, light coloured stripes coming out of the clouds
3. crop out the dark mass at the bottom
4. stick a sleepy cat in it
5. make it colour

... and that's about it. ;)
