I'm going to visit my sister later this month... she lives in West Point, which I think is about 45-60 minutes from Richmond/Newport News/Williamsburg... I'm not too into the colonial thing, but I'm open to suggestions on fun things/places to shoot. I'd really like landscapes or cityscapes... cool buildings... or something really colorful. :) Does anyone have any ideas?

if you don't mind sharing some specifics, i'd appreciate it. :) i do remember some interesting buildings downtown, and i've been to pony pastures before.

Richmond
Maymont Park ( Map)
Hollywood Cemetery ( Map)
Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens ( Map)

Newport News
Virginia Living Museum (Map)

Williamsburg (First one is sort of a given)
Colonial Williamsburg

Just a few places I like. As I think of more I will add them to this post.

I also highly suggest the Fan area in Richmond. Very cool to walk around. Be sure to check the alleys.
