I know there are some of you here that might be able to answer this for me. Is there a professional video camera that shoots large enough files to print out single framed shots from the footage? I'm talking 8x10 or possibly bigger? Just wondering...

The amount of pixels even on high-end HD cams aren't enough for decent size prints.
I remember seeing a DVcam with a completely separate lens and chip for taking stills. Can't remember the brand, but it took SD cards if that helps...
EDIT: Something like this, but bigger.

He still wouldn't be able to get the still picture from footage though. The only solution to that would be a video camera that records every frame at 8 megapixels or something like that and it would take terrabytes of memory to store that much data, maybe next-gen SuperHDTV?
If you want decent pictures, you should get a [still picture] camera... everything else is just for candid shots, etc... |

No video camera is going to produce good prints.
Unless you want to shoot 35mm film stock :-)

No, there are DVcam/still image hybrid cameras. One lens/chip is for video, and one lens/chip is for stills. Video gets stored to a DV tape, and stills get stored on an SD/whatever card. |

I was just wondering...thought it would save some time...just video everythig and take a shot out here and there. I'll just stick with the stills

| Yeah, sorry. Now, there are allegedly some video camera's coming down the road, but at the moment even the $65,000 VariCam still only shoots at 1280 x 720. |
