Okay...so I've decided to give Alamy a try even tho I really wish they'd get the FTP crap together. But...I just need some clarification on part of their submission guidelines. And yes, I feel rather stupid for asking...

From their site:
Note for images from digital cameras - We strongly recommend that images are captured on a digital camera capable of producing files of 17MB and upwards (6 megapixels). Please then interpolate the images to a minimum of 48MB using professional upsizing software. We recommend Genuine Fractals™, although other professional upsizing software is equally acceptable, including Abobe Photoshop versions 7 and CS/CS2 (if the bicubic option is used).

I learn best by example so here we go...
I took this picture RAW, post-processed (Adobe Camera RAW), ran thru Noiseware, converted to JPG. File size compressed is 3.42MB. I should also mention I have CS2 v9 and am using an 8MP KM A200.

Newbie question 1: How can I tell if this meets the 48MB uncompressed file size? I'm not sure if this is right, but if I go into PS and do Image>Image Size, the Pixel Dimensions field says 22.9M

Newbie question 2: And I can probably figure this out on my own, but if my umcompressed file size does not meet the 48MB requirement, how does one go about "interpolating" to meet the proper size?

I'm not as concerned about question 2 as I am about question 1 as I'm sure I can find all kinds of tutorials on interpolating.

I don't have a huge portfolio right now...just about 82 images, but I'd like to take my best SS sellers and try them at Alamy for a few months and see how it goes.

thanks,
Lisa

A few moments later....While in the Image Size page, I just increased the Width and Height to see how it effected the Pixel Dimensions and I pumped it up to 49.4M (4800x3600). Is this what they're talking about?

An integrity question here. Are you going to pull your SS images when you submit them to Alamy, or are you going to let potential buyers figure out whether to pay micro vs macro stock prices?

I was under the impression that it was a conflict of interest to the macro site to have the same images in both places. Once my initial ten pass the QC at Alamy, I'll remove them from the micro sites.
