Here is a link to the photos I took last Saturday night at the Plano, Texas Balloon Festival with night glow and fireworks.

The whole event was a rush for us. My new 1gb memory card crashed, I had to run and buy a new one, then run to the bank to get money for the entry and parking :) But I did manage to get some fairly nice shots if you want to take a look. All this after spending the entire day at the local Zoo and almost filling up the 1gb memory card!

I did not get to spend much time on these photos, there were a total of approximately 150 in all. And I had close to 300 photos from the Zoo.

LOL

It was fun.

Some really amazing pics. You had a good eye for the colours. Also the firework is fine. Congratulations.

I really like the internal ones of the basket and the fire that makes the balloon rise

Those are reall awesome photos. The red balloon lit-up at night is exceptional. There is a feel of excitment in the air!

Nice shots, which night were you there? I was there on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Here's what I have processed so far, more to follow.

We got there at 8:00pm approximately. We were rushed like I said above. Then after I was shooting I noticed I had left mt EOS 10D in manual mode from the Zoo! Hence some were under exposed. I did not realize right away that you could get beyond the barrier they had also. When we when beyond it was better. The crazy 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, countdown made it tricky as to where you wanted to be. Not every balloon would glow everytime :)It was truly a fun day!

I really wanted shots of the flames up close. And when they saw me with the big camera outfit and etc. they were very nice to accomodate me.

You have some great pics also!

Is this your wife?

Uh no :-) Just a face in the crowd!

I wish we could have met up, that'd have been fun. Maybe we can go shooting soon somewhere around Dallas!

If I took a photo of a face in the crowd like that my wife would KILL me! LOL. Even after 29yrs. It would have to be purely accidental :)

That would have been nice!

We had such a busy day planned I never thought of touching base with you. I remembered you lived near by.

We will have to try again.

We are going to the Stars game tonight my wife tickets to the companies private suite. I will probably drag the camera along with me.

I want to try and get some photos of the fair at night that is going to be worse than the River Walk at night!

Thanks for sharing these - I really wanted to come up for the balloonfest, but had to settle for Jerry Hall naked instead.

Nice shots!

I wish we had arrived sooner so we weren't so rushed and I had more time to plan. I was more interested in the night glow shots than the daytime shots. But you did a nice job with both.

By the way I noticed the girl of your dreams was wearing a wedding ring :)

LOL

Did you stay to shoot the fireworks?

We thought they were going to be at 10:00pm and we were wandering the concession stands. The next thing we know they were doing the countdown!
I had to rush and get into position, set up my tripod and camera, fumble in the dark with the settings and finally get some shots worth keeping :)

It was all fun! My wife and I really enjoyed it.

No, I left before the fireworks, as i wanted to get up early for launch on Sunday... I however didn't make it for launch, but did manage to get some good fly over shots that I will work on tomorrow.
