Do you ever have people that ask you to do specific photographs for them, or do you usually just take pictures of things you'd like?
I had a friend ask me to compose a picture for her of something red. She wanted to put it up in her house if she liked it.
I took this shot: //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=37497
She decided to go a different direction with her decorating and didn't want red anymore. That was ok though, it actually made me take some pictures and get some more practice editing.

Typically, I would never shoot something for a "client" without a clear understanding of how I was to be compensated regardless of them changing their mind after the shoot. However, for friends and or family, I'd try to do something that I think they'd like, but since they aren't paying clients, in my opinion, they shouldn't be too fussy. Usually it's better to show them some work and just make a print of something they like.

A friend asked me to take some photos of her dog. Darn dog will not sit still, but I finally got an ok shot when we were riding around in her car(my friends car,the dog doesn't own one, yet). She was happy enough with it and wants me to try for some more.
