Today I was scheduled off cause my little boy was suppose to have oral surgery well late day yesterday they called and cancelled the appointment just incase of power outages by Isabel. He already had the day off school for teacher-in-service, so I figured oh well at least I am off and don't have to find a sitter. So here I am enjoying a morning of Thomas the Tank Engine and Rugrat videos when the phone rings...

...There is no roof on the office where I work the high winds from Isabel ripped it off. There is about 3 inches of water laying in the office from the rain, and my desk is under the rubble. My supervisor says to me..."Anna is there anything you want out of you desk?" LOL not a thing!

What luck I have! I just said yesterday I want a new computer mine is acting up the monitor is going and the keyboard is sticking, would someone do something about it. I also said geesh I need a few days off right now. Well my phone call ended with me finding out I am off work til at least Tuesday maybe Wednesday, I will have a new desk and computer and a chair! WOW Isabel was kind to me...not really cause now I am going to be short on hours for the next pay!

Well I'm off with my little boy to take photos of the office. If they let me!

I just got back I didn't any pictures of the damage. The roofers had a tarp pulled over the section of the roof that went flying and really couldn't see anything. As for my desk and two others around me they are all cleaned up. But as for a new computer the insurance company hasn't oked it yet, they told them to turn the keyboards upside down to dry and to wait til Monday to try the computers and see if they work. Excuse me I am not going to the the one who turns it on and tries it out the first time.

It should be interesting next week. They are going to be putting on the sheeting tomorrow and Sunday on the roof then I am going to try to work next week with the smell of soggy carpet, roofing
tar and a computer that may or may not work. As for the drop ceiling well they have it all ripped down and were already working on getting the new tiles cut and ready to go into the framework.
