I particularly like the light and position of the Tower. Great choice.

I usually don't like when somebody suggests his own photo but there are exceptions like this one (and, in general, when the photo really has something special).

It went straight in my favs because I cannot just remember a photo which deals with the horizon in a better way.

Taken a couple of days too early for the Flight Challenge.

Uh oh, now you've got me started on something I sort-of know how to do! Some recent shots:
Slanting Sun
East Bay Sunset #41
Bay Sunset #45 (taken on the same drive as the previous shot)
Late Summer Sunrise
and an "old" one Sun Pillar

I remember that one. Would go well with the "Fences" thread which ran a few days ago.

Some excellent work here, I love a good sunset! The one that pitsaman linked to originally is fantastic. I couldn't resist adding a shamelss plug for my own work though..... Turneresque.....

Shameless plug acknowledged -- very nice! Given your explanation, have you tried using a light application of a canvas or brush filter to enhance the effect?

I used it on Rainier Sunrise, but the low-res JPG looks awful! Try downloading the image and see if it looks better.

Can anyone checkout my blog and tell me what they think of the three sky photos I have there?

They don't look good at their current size.
