Yes, many people enjoy sharing their pets' photos and showing them off! I have several photos of mine in my portfolio. They are family after all.

You can even enter them into challenges. Overall, they don't fair well for some reason unless the photo is really evocative or brings out a sweet response -- but to be fair -- children are usually in the same category. Most people say, "Nice family photo -- or pet photo -- but it is not my family/pet" when they vote.

Unfortunately, most pet photos are pretty boring except to those whose pets they are. I'm pretty sure I would skip that challenge(submission and voting wise) if it were to come about.

I enjoy phenomenal photos of any kind, even if they are of pets :)

Well if you think of "pets" as a verb instead of a noun you might be able to come up with some evocative shots. Or at least provactive. :)

You don't expect any of US to be thinking thoughts like that, do you?
Ironically, people who do crossword puzzles have an advantage in thinking "outside the box" sometimes.

Dear DPC Administration:

I must strongly protest this weeks topic, "At Rest".("Your subject should be placed, seated, or lying stably, with a feeling of calm to the shot.") It's not bad enough that we have to put up with all the constant picture taking but to give an excuse like this is to abuse our good and patient nature. This is WAY beyond what we as a group are willing to put up with.

Be forewarned I have sent a communication through our network and as of tomorrow you will no longer be able to type, read, have a meal, do a load of wash, or go to the bathroom without our interference.

I'm sorry to take such drastic measures but you have left us no choice!
