Was wondering if someone can help out.

Am holidaying in Aust and with the new travelling rules back to the states I can no longer take the camera equipment as carry on luggage. Need to check it in so I need to purchase a Pelican Box to protect it

Can anyone know of a website in Australia or a shopfront in Brisbane/Toowoomba that I can get my hands on them...

Thanks
Rob..

Have you tried eBay? Usually the first place I go.

I saw this one that ends on the 4th.

When are you leaving? ...These guys deliver to the marine industry all around Australia fairly pronto, so it might pay to give them a call.

Good luck and travel safe :)

Can't help you there but since I'm an aussie, I'll be happy to hold your camera for you :D

Anyone here travelled with one of those Pelican cases? I just started looking at them after the recent travel restrictions went into effect. My worry is won't these cases attract more attention from would-be thieves?

better than having them all banged up from the luggage carriers throwing them on/off the plane... you do have insurance right? ;)

A quick, cheap solution would be to pack your equipment inside your camera bag. Pack you camera bag inside a rubbermaid type of bin, cushioned by your rolled up socks. Pack this bin inside your luggage with the rest of your clothes packed around it for protection.

This layered packing should provide quite a bit of protection from tossed luggage; yours and tossed luggage landing on top of yours.

Thanks for the links guys (I had my brother post above as I was offline).

I ended up getting a heavy duty tool box from a hardware shop and threw that in the suitcase with a lot of bubble wrap, as it was easy to get hold of in the time I had.

What passes for "security" when flying is now completely out of control, but that would cause this to be moved to the rant forum :-)
