I just noticed there's over 10,000 profiles listed in the community. Yet, there's typically only about 200 votes cast per entry during each challenge. Seems a little slim to me. That's at most about 10% of the people actually casting votes.

By way of comparison, if just 50% (5,000) voted on the minimum 20% for a challenge with 200 submissions, that would be a total of 200,000 votes cast, or roughly 1,000 votes per entry.

Sounds a lot like the American electorial process: a lot of citizens, very few votes.

Whoa we hit 10,000? Did #10,000 win a prize? ; )

At a guess I would say that only 1000-2000 users are active (log on at least once a week). The rest have come and gone over the lifetime of the site, or have just joined and are lurking a while before jumping in (or running away once they see what we're like!).

i have been on a sabbatical for the last couple of months.

i had to take a break cos there was lots of newcomers, who came across aggressive on the forums, so went to indulge other favourite hobbies.

Lots of people sign up here and never participate beyond that.
