I like the overall front design, it's clean and simple. However, the little red "o" over the black one in "Focus" drives me insane. Looking closer, I see that your name is "F8cus", and it's a neat play on words, with both F/8 and Focus in there, but the red part of the 8 is still distracting as hell. Maybe if you made the whole 8 red, or black? I don't know...maybe other people will get it faster than me.

The back of the card compliments the front, IMO. It's a bit busier, but still functional. Especially the "box" with your info - I like the little web/phone/mail logos. It has a real 3D deep feel. Overall just very cool, a modern professional look.

I hope you don't mind, but I found that the focus needed a eight really confusing. I guessed that might be the case, but the first address I typed in was focus.com not f8cus.com. Because the top 0 is a different color the the rest of the address.
Also the fact that box, has the x on the other side of the card distracting. I don't know why you would want to repeat the same thing again and again on the card?

I don't mind the two tone colors (black and red) the red certainly stands out. Could you think of a tag line that helps people remember your business name? Something like "We f8cus our business on repeat customers" or something like that? I also like the light gray explaining all the main areas you work at. Nice professional and functional.

Ah F8 as in F8, I get it now.... Non-photographers will not get the reference, and I assume that is who your customer base is?
Just to be fair, this is my card. Granted I am going after a specific type of client. I don't have time to dedicate to general photography nor is my main income from photography.

It's funny you mention this as my customer base is none photographers and these sort of people normally ask what it means which then sparks up a conversation, the thing I found with my last business card I had for my own portfolio only was that people were not as interested in it and if it was quitre "normal" they simply slipped it into their pockets and went back to the previous conversation... So... What I wanted with this one was to have people question what it was if they were unsure. TBH FOCUS.COM had gone along time ago and as soon as I found that out I tried this address f8cus and it was available.

Thanks both of you for the in depth critique as I do appreciate it, the text repeating itself was to create a box and again give people several things to think what the box was... Is it the box the text creates and my company name within it, is it the picture that will be taken ( frame of a shot = box), basically keep them guessing or get them to ask !!!

Maybe its just my strange mind...

Thanks again and welcome many more comments too.

Thanks, I never know when people ask for C&C if they really mean it or not. One possible solution is to have the two OO in the 8 as a gradient like you have the black to red elsewhere on your card. Just something to think on and to give people that little extra hint that it is an 8.

yeah, i think the change to have the 8 all in red is a great idea and I have become set in my way since designing my logo, which funilly enough was the first of seven I came up with, thanks again.

The previous critiques are all very accurate critiques.

All you need to do to fix that X drifting down to the other other side, is to kern the type.
