Hopefully someone over there in the states can help me out.

After plenty of searching I cannot source 1/4" wing nuts (or similar) at anywhere near a sensible price here in the UK.

If one of you kind folk on the other side of the pond would kindly send me 5 of the little beasts (should fit on a standard 1/4" tripod camera mount thread) I'll happily transfer the needed funds via PayPal

Cheers :)

Your probably going to have to know what thread you need as well. A great website (although not always the cheapest) for all things industrial is mcmastercar.com perhaps they have what your looking for. I am not sure of thier shipping policies however.

When you say for the standard tripod mount, you mean the screw that goes into the camera body? If so, I am going to be out and about tonight, ill grab my tripod top and see what I can find.

Larry.

Otherwise most of the hardware stores here have wingnuts etc, if you can varify the thread you need im sure they can be sourced pretty cheap.

1/4" UNC would do the job :)

If I'm not mistaken the correct size would 1/4 x 20 for a standard tripod mount...

I would think that any hardware store should stock that as a fairly standard item.

This is very true over there but alas here in 'Metric World' things are not so simple - M6 is just not the same :/

I can get these if no one else has. I have a mini-tripod I can take to the hardware store to check. Do you only want wingnuts? These items cost only $0.05-0.10/each USD, so shipping is more than the items -- it's best to overbuy ...
