Hi Guys. This topic has been addressed many a time before I guess.
I just want to know if possible, if I can open an UNOFFICIAL dpc channel on a dedicated chat server? The server also has a java applet for those who do not use mirc, pirch, or any other IRC client. The only thing is with the java bit, that the server admin has agreed to add the channel to the available list of channels if the room gets enough users. That means that at the beginning you would have to use a chat client.
Before I do that, I would like to know if anyone, including the site admins object? If you think we could give it a try, then very well. It can always be stopped and no harm done.

| For some reason I think the forum kind of defeats the purpose for having an IRC channel for the site. It is still a cool idea, but I get the feeling that not a whole lot of people are going to come. |

| What about a non-official channel on a non-dedicated server (#dpc on irc.freenode.net?). I really don't like web-based chat rooms - they force you to use their own user interface, while using standard technology (IRC protocol) you are free to choose the client you like best. |
