I realize Photoshop is a super software package, but has anyone found any other similar software maybe not so expensive...Something that can read RAW?

Some people might say Photoshop Elements.

But really, Photoshop doesn't have to be expensive. It can be free, thanks to the internet. Though I do not condone such activities. In my younger days, however!

Not so expensive?...well, Gimp is free. I haven't used it in a couple years, but I know plenty of people that still do use it and they seem to be happy.

I'm not sure about its RAW capabilities though, but a quick Google "Gimp+RAW" search finds a couple possible plug-ins.

Gimp is free and is a great program. I know there is a RAW plugin for it, but not sure how well it works.

For that, you could use Picasa or Rawshooter Essentials.
