Hi! Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself before I head off to bed. I'm currently living in Germany and we are 6 hours ahead of the east coast. I'm working on developing myself as a photographer and am happy to have found this site. It looks like a great way to learn. Motion blur is probably something I wouldn't have gotten around to trying anytime soon without last week's challenge.

The first challenge I entered was Empty Room. The comments I got were mostly about the small image size. Sorry about that - I just hadn't found the tutorial on sizing images and saving for the web!! I think that should be a standard part of the welcome e-mail!! So I thought I would share what the image would have looked like...uh, guess I've gotta go find the image ID number...OK, I think I've figured it out...

Yes, that's it. I agree with comments about the vase being too small and even to some degree with its appropriateness. This is where my inexperience shows. Since I only had about 10 minutes to get this shot, I didn't have a lot of time to experiment. An experienced photographer would have known to start with the vase closer in so it would have more impact.

I would welcome any other thoughts on how to improve this image. I loved the space, the architectural details, and the lighting. I'm just learning PS, so didn't do a lot of editing, though I liked the shot pretty much the way it turned out.

Linda

Faidoi, thanks for the tip!! I found it in the properties, but your way looks easier!
