...is it about the movie musical "Grease"? I've seriously tried and I just can't get it. My wife is inside now with her eyes glued to it like it's The Godfather - and does this on occasion when it comes on. I watch 5 minutes of it and consider poking my eyes out. So I ask you, what the heck am I missing here?

Should this be in rant?

Grease is the word! If you're lucky you can find the bouncing-ball-sing-along version on tv :)

I'm not a girl and I like grease. cindi - I'll send you my copy, you can watch it until you like it :)

...and your point about that IS????? ;)

I have both screenplays memorized and the soundtracks are always in my car. I'm hopelessly afflicted, I'm afraid...so I can't be objective. I thoroughly love both movies. As an undergrad, we had Grease parties at my sorority house and watched them all the time.

I guess it comes down to the ability to suspend your disbelief entirely for a little while and escape to a little musical world of 50's fantasy and fun.

Is it completely insane that I wanted a "cool rider" of my very own? ;)

The movie sequence will be:
Ferris - Grease - Ferris - Grease - Ferris - Grease - *

You will be assimilated!

*I have both of these movies on top of the tv, for easy viewing access

Don't think so... there are several things in life that I may miss... but Grease is definitely not one of them.

I can still vividly recall my wife and her mother standing in line to see this piece of drivel... while I opted to watch Capricorn One. I have never regretted my decision.

In the list of truly great movies... GREASE simply does not cut it.

...it's just I've never personally met a guy who likes Grease or my other favorite musical chick flick, Dirty Dancing. No offense meant!

Grease and Dirty Dancing are my girlfriends top 2 fav films ever too! Those and "10 Things I Hate About You". I'm not sure whether I'm conditioning myself into liking them just so I don't get a slap, or whether they actually are growing on me...

I'm scared :S

Look, spaghetti arms. This is my dance space. This is your dance space. I don't go into yours, you don't go into mine. You gotta hold the frame.
