I happened to run across this guy--absolutely phenomenal in my mind--but I'll let anyone who wants to look judge for themselves.

thanks for the link
makes me realize everytime I see more and more people (like those at better photo, dpc, etc) with such amazing quality in photographs just how much of an amateur I am. No matter how much I learn I feel I'll always be behind...oh well I love it anyway.

Yup, another great Oregon photographer. I posted a link to his site in this thread about a week ago. :P
Interesting websites please?

ok a couple of you apparently seem to know him--and aren't impressed? I have no idea as to his morality, personality, etc. I just like his photos. Anyway, if I ever get to half of his ability I'll probably be happy.

He's very accomplished. Certainly a very good photographer. For my tastes, a little overstated, a little plastic or hyper. I mean, I've made forays in that direction, but I always come back to a more muted palette myself. That's neither here nor there of course. Marc's a very fine shooter.

what great images.

counterpoint - why is it displayed on a smugmug site? I think that the site quality should reflect the photography...which it doesn't to me.

He is truly a master at what he does...I've talked to the guy before...nice guy.

I, too, have known Marc online for over a year from when he used to sell on Shutterpoint. His knowledge of photography is vast. He is one of those that hikes miles upon miles through backcountry to get a shot. He is definitely one of my favs and has helped me out whenever I had questions :)
