People have suggested "abstract" as a challenge before, but that seems too broad. I'd like to see more abstract challenges, so I'm suggesting one abstract technique today: minimalism. I would word the challenge as follows:

"Take a simple idea and strip it down to its bare essentials, leaving you with nothing but the basic elements of design. What you see is what you see."

It's been done heavily in music and sculpture, I don't think photography would be a stretch.

If there can be so many one-colored canvases in the art institute, there's no reason minimalism can't work for a challenge ;)

Minimal meaning less is more. I would love to see what Tarique and Blurry would come up with.

Great idea. I think this is good for us newbies as we need to learn to simplify our photos anyway.
