Actually, I think going out and getting the shot of a lifetime, then coming home and discovering that your memory card is in your card reader and was never in your camera would be worse.

But, yeah, I know how ya feel.

I've heard of the memory card thing happening before. However, my D70 has a setting that won't let you shoot unless the card is in the cam.

You return home to find out that you shot all day on ISO 1600 when 200 would have been perfect.

You shoot ALL DAY candids of the homeless to discover that you had the white balance setting to incadescent!!!

The light setting isn't as bad as the iso being way to high, especially in the RAW age, where you can change that after the fact. I have had the iso thing, took portraits of people for work website, only to find out that the iso was set to 800 and they came out really grainy. It's embarrassing to have to ask for a reshoot when they think you are all professional and such.

I did THAT on Saturday. Though, it was only ISO 800.
