I just bought a Cokin circular polarizer and it was the cheaper of the selection at the store, firstly i was woundering if anybody knew anything about cokin filters because the filter isn't getting rid of reflections in some glass so im not sure if it would be with all polerizers of just the cokin one. As well i have a basic UV filter and i've stacked the polarizer ontop of it.. i was woundering if thats ok, or if theres even any point of stacking them or if i should switch the order.

I'm one of those that believe the more filters you put in front of your lens the more you degrade the image. You should only use a filter if needed. So, I'm not one for stacking the Polarizer on top of the UV filter. Also, I don't belive in keeping the UV filter on the lens all the time.

A polarizer won't get rid of all the reflections in glass, as different parts of the glass are at different angles, therefore the angle of polarization will differ.

polarising filters only get rid of the light reflections reflected off of a certain angle. The effect is most noticeable with a circular polariser against the sea - you can twist the filter and see the refletions disappearing at certain angles.

Stacking filters is likely to end up with vignetting, which is irritating usually!

I have a Cokin polarizer. I like it much better than the more expensive Canon CP that I previously used.
